Trikaripur Rotary - an overview
Formed in the year 1998, with twenty three charter members under the
sponsorship of RC Payyanur, Trikaripur Rotary is deeply rooted in the community only because of our myriad projects and programs beneficial to the society. Our steady and rapid growth from twenty three to fifty two shows the image we have created in the minds of
local community.
To highlight some of our project, they are numbered as:
1. Rotary Clock Tower.
2. Sri. INA Kunhiraman Memorial Rotary Mobile Freezer.
3. Sri. O.M. Balakrishnan Vaidyar Memorial Endowment Awards (Yearly).
4. Adoption of girl students for higher education (Yearly).
5. Rotary bus shelters at Thankayam junction and Vellap road junction.
6. Children’s Ward at Govt. Thaluk hospital.
7. Herbal garden at St Paul’s school.
8. Rotary Garden at Chakrapani temple.
9. Parking area at Trikaripur railway station.
10. Organic vegetable garden at Kooleri school which is adopted by our Club.
11. Toilet blocks at GHS Udinur, ALPS Koyonkara and in Harijen colony Udinur.
12. Several houses constructed and handed over for homeless in and around Trikaripur.
13. Smart class rooms at GHS Pilicode.
14. A well functioning Rotaract Club at Women’s College Trikaripur and Interact Clubs at GHS Trikaripur and GHS South Trikaripur.
15. We have hosted the Regional Fellowship meet once.
16. We have bagged gold medals and ranked first many times in the cultural programmes in Regional Fellowship Meets.
17. In various years we have hosted Regional Seminars in different avenues very successfully.
18. RYLA for students is one of the Youth Service Project we conducts for the past many years.
19. Every year we honor eminent personalities with Vocational Excellence Awards and teachers with Nation Builder Awards.
20. By conducting medical camps in various ways and by providing financial assistance for treatment, we wiped the tears of many downtrodden families.
21. A well functioning registered Club Trust is one of hallmark of our Club.
22. Trikaripur Rotary is one among in the list of Clubs having own property which is in the main part of the town.
23. In two consecutive years we sponsored two new Rotary Clubs and thus spread the message and opportunities of Rotary service.
24. Almost all members had liberally contributed to The Rotary Foundation in time to time and in reply we have one Major Donor, five Multiple Paul Harris Fellows and fifteen Paul Harris Fellows so far.
25. Many of our Rotarians has proved their leadership skills and served in District level in many capacities.
26. By the first Global Grant Project we provided four dialysis machines at C.H. Center Trikaripur.
27. We developed a Miyawalki Forest at Edayilakkad, as a part of Enviornment Project.
As the Rotary wheel rotates and while we are nearing to the Silver Jubilee Year of existence, we are so confident about our days ahead, yes, the days of Service enjoying the fragrance of Friendship!!
